OK so what i started with was a block of bee's wax. then i got a set of lyra sticks at the local art store. I was not impressed with them. Thy may be good if you were to wont to colour with them like crayons.

I did have a old iron that i tryed to work with it was not bad, but it has no point on it. My friend did send me a Small set of Encaustic Art Wax from the Netherlands and a Iron from them. These worked out great. I ended up going out and buying a hot gun at Harbor Freight, and a Electric Grillde. These things turned out to be priceless.

I melted all My waxes in a Muffin pan. Then i got the cheap goat hair brushes i had for painting. This all was stuff that i had around the house. I just started laying down the different lairs of colours on some mainsite boxes that i made. I made a point to use the heat gun on each lair of paint to fuse it to the last lair.

The end result is a multi layer piece that looks like a space scape.
Relay Cool!!!

welcome to my page!!
I have been a artist all my life. I mostly worked with watercolor and acrylics. One of my friends has been telling me for a couple of years that i needed to try Encaustic. As most of us do i said that i would some day.
Well that day was earlier this year !!! Wow!! I wish i had acted earlier.
